Divination | Consultation

Divination is the foundation of consultation in Ifá. Through the Odù revealed, the Babaláwo seeks guidance concerning the individual’s questions, circumstances, or concerns.  

The consultation provides insight, clarity, and spiritual guidance and may identify practices or offerings appropriate to what is revealed.

Ẹbọ | Sacred Offering

Following divination, Ifá may prescribe ẹbọ, or sacred offering, according to what is revealed through the Odù.

Each ẹbọ is specific to the individual and may involve offerings to Orí, Òrìṣà, ancestors, or other spiritual forces to support balance, alignment, and favorable outcomes.

Hand of Ifá | Ìṣẹ̀fá

The Hand of Ifá is a sacred ceremony through which an individual establishes a formal connection with Ifá and Òrúnmìlà. During the ceremony, consecrated ikin are received according to the traditions of the lineage.

Through Ìṣẹ̀fá, deeper understanding may be revealed concerning one’s spiritual identity, life direction, alignment, and relationship with Ifá. In accordance with the lineage and what is revealed, the ceremony may also include the receiving or recognition of one’s spiritual name.

Ilékè | Sacred Beads

Ilékè are consecrated sacred beads received within the Yorùbá spiritual tradition as an expression of spiritual connection, devotion, and relationship with the Òrìṣà.

Prepared and consecrated according to lineage, the beads carry significance beyond adornment.Receiving Ilékè may mark a deepening of one’s spiritual relationship and serve as a tangible reminder of protection, guidance, identity, and alignment. The specific beads received and their significance are determined according to the individual, the tradition, and spiritual guidance.

Ifá Initiation | Ìtẹ́fá

Ilékè are consecrated sacred beads received within the Yorùbá spiritual tradition as an expression of spiritual connection, devotion, and relationship with the Òrìṣà.

Ifá Initiation, or Ìtẹ́fá, is a sacred rite through which an individual is formally initiated into Ifá. The ceremony deepens one's relationship with Ifá and may reveal important guidance concerning spiritual identity, destiny, and one's path in life.

Specific rites and practices are carried out according to tradition and lineage under the guidance of qualified Babaláwo.

Èṣù | Sacred Representation

Èṣù holds an honored place within Yorùbá spiritual tradition as the divine mediator, messenger, and guardian of communication and exchange. Associated with movement, choice, consequence, and the opening of the way, Èṣù reminds us that our decisions carry meaning and that alignment requires awareness, responsibility, and good character.

Receiving a consecrated representation of Èṣù establishes a sacred point of relationship through which the individual may offer prayer, acknowledgment, and prescribed offerings according to the teachings and practices of the lineage.Representative imagery:
